Anyway, I got to the front of the queue, put my tickets in my basket, attempted to pay and had it 3Dsecure fail a bunch of times (as it apparently did for a bunch of others buying tickets) and THEN it punted me back into like 20000th in the queue even though I had about 15 minutes left on the timer

Look I realise we are all related and have mostly the same percentage of chinese parent from the same family group to white parent genes, but gosh my mixed cousins really do look like me.
