Crank

I have got to see this film. Not only does it have one of my favourite action movie stars in it, it looks pretty cool and funny too. Well, funny between all the shooting, car chases and blowing things up and such. 😀

Jason Statham seems to have been pigeonholed into the action star kind of role, but I think he’s been in some other less modern-day action hero type roles, which I guess I’ll have to track down and watch. It’d be cool to see him given the oppotunity to do something a little different though.

googling

Things that annoy me part 2343
1. Googling yourself to find that there is yet another person with the same name as you
2. Already knowing about the person 5 years younger than you, living in the same town, born in the same hospital with the same bloody name as you
3. Not appearing top of the search results. (at least the top result is dead)
4. Suspecting that there are actually two newly web-active people in america with your name.

Pah. I guess I’ll have to do something about this to ensure that anyone actually looking for me, won’t get the wrong me. Especially since one of the other mes lives in the same town.

Unconventional watches

These watches look very cool, though I guess they’re not really that practical. But then, they’re not meant to be practical and are instead a kind of commentry on the relationship people can have with their watches.

From the
Mr Jones Watches website
:

“Summissus revives the traditional memento mori – an object designed to remind people that death should be prepared for at any time. Summissus has a mirrored display that reflects the wearer and alternates the time with the statement, ‘Remember you will die”. In this way Summissus fosters humility in the wearer.”

The Summissus is the watch on the left in the picture. I guess, aside from “fostering humility”, it could also make people worry less about other things. Day going badly? Don’t worry, you’re going to die some day. :)

Walking with a ghost

I first got introduced to the Tegan and Sara song “Walking with a Ghost” through a mashup by PartyBen that mixed it with a song by Mylo. It’s a really great song that I love (well, right now I do) and it’s also been covered by The White Stripes.

I don’t know what it is about this song, but it’s just so catchy and singalongable no matter what version I’m listening to.
