QotD: You’ve got to blog!

If you could get someone in your life to start a blog, who would it be and why?

I think I would get some of my family in Malaysia to start blogging because then it would be easier to keep up to date with what's going on there. I have been considering starting a site for the family with a gallery and blogging software so that everyone can post updates and keep in touch better, but I don't know if everyone would use it.

Yay presents.

<!– end enclosure –>

It's a friend's birthday in a couple of weeks and I got together with some other friends to get him a present. The best thing about buying presents for other people, especially if you can give it to them face to face, is wrapping them. I really like wrapping presents. Especially if they're in boxes.

So exciting. Eeee.

Heh.

Under the Tuscan Sun

<!– end enclosure –>

So I watched this yesterday. It's a bit dappy plot-wise, but on the other hand Italy looks really great in it and it kind of makes me want to visit again, though with more time to go and see stuff and enjoy things. I last went to Italy a few years ago with my mum and dad on coach trip to Sorento. Which was nice, but my mum's fond of doing nothing but sunbathing and my dad's not such a big fan of museums and walking places.

Thinking about it, some kind of trip all around Italy on my own would be nice. I could do what I wanted rather than being limited by what my mum or dad would enjoy too. Something to think about I guess.

QotD: Better than the original?

What is your favorite cover song?
Question submitted by Ray.

Favourite cover song? That's a difficult question – there are a lot of really great covers out there and I have heard a heck of a lot of them. I think Johnny Cash's version of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt" is really great and AFI did a cool cover of The Cure's "Hanging Gardens". Tori Amos has done a bunch of good covers like "Bonnie and Clyde '97" (originally by Eminem) and "Smells like Teen Spirit". Which was originally by Nirvana. Who have also been covered by an artist called The King who is basically Elvis and covered "Come As You Are". It's a bit surreal hearing Elvis sing that.

Hmm. What else…? I guess there's Soulwax's cover of "Starfish and Coffee" (originally by Prince). Feeder did a wonderful cover of "The Power of Love" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

I suppose at the moment though, my favourite cover is Emm Gryner's version of "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard.
