I had intended to do my tiny bit of Christmas shopping today, but while I was in town my mum text me that she’s taken the day off tomorrow so I suspect we are going to the giant temple of consumerism aka Westfield tomorrow.
Which kind of took the steam out of my attempt at getting presents for like… two people.
I still got my mum a present, but not a Christmas one because a bath mat is a crap present.
At some point I should actually go and do vacuuming, but I’ve just realised that the awesome thing about being home alone during the day is that I can play my CDs on the stereo and have the house full of music that I don’t hear on the radio.
Mostly AFI. 😀
Incidentally I have my ticket to see AFI next April. FTW. I’m excited but it feels weird that I’ll be going to see them without my dad. I think I’ve seen AFI play in this country about 5 or 6 times and each time I went to see them with my dad and we would stop off at the Chinese Malaysian takeaway on the way home if it was a London gig rather than a festival. :/
Can’t believe that it’s been a year too. That’s weird when it feels like it was only yesterday.
ALSO, a question. Am I the only person who likes to get slightly old tech items rather than the latest ones? I’m thinking about a new mp3 player for Christmas, but the one I am pondering is an old model rather than the omglatest. Is this geekfail that I am immune to the allure of new gadgets?
