Since we came back from Ireland my mum's been trying to make the oat cake recipe in the irish granny's book of bread and baking ->
The results have been weird. Mostly too salty? WHO KNOWS in reply to herdivineshadow ->

ANYWAY I had a go at the recipe. Turns out that if you don't immediate double the amounts & use actual butter & rolled oats, it turns out ok in reply to herdivineshadow ->

SO WHO KNOWS what went wrong before? Was it not doubling it correctly? Was it the vegetable oil in the spreadable butter? in reply to herdivineshadow ->
Maybe it was 1/2 tsp salt rather than a tiny pinch cos salt is terrible? Maybe it was using the instant porridge sachets? in reply to herdivineshadow ->
